Evaporator coils absorb heat from the air. When these coils get cold, ice builds up on the outside. With an evaporator surrounded by ice, the air conditioner will either throw warm hair or no air at all.
Condenser coils get rid of the heat removed from air by expelling it outside the building. When condensers get dirty or covered in grime, the heat gets trapped inside. This means that your air conditioner will have to work hard to keep the room cool. But no matter how hard it works, heat is not getting expelled outside due to a dirty coil. This cycle therefore keeps adding more pressure on your conditioner. It may even break down completely.
Regular servicing and maintenance of your air conditioner will help avoid issues arising from malfunctioning evaporator or condenser coils.
4.Damaged Drain
You may have sometimes noticed that the wall or ceiling around your air conditioner is wet. This could be because of a damaged drain.
This happens if the drain pipes not getting placed as per the required slop then the water gets blocked and comes back to the system. While installation this is also very important to place drain pipe in proper slop.
5.Faulty Fans
There are two fans inside the air conditioner, one blows indoor air over the air conditioner's evaporator coil. This is to keep the air cool. Another fan blows air over the air conditioner’s condenser to remove the absorbed heat outside the building. Both the fans have different functions and hence both need to work. Even if one of the fan malfunctions, there will be airflow issues. Ignoring the problem for long could mean that the air conditioner itself stops working.
